| So, its been awhile since I last said anything on here...seminary, life, college ministry, and others...its been real busy and at the end of the day, I just come home and want to do nothing but rest. I'm ready to graduate and move on to the next stage in life to do ministry. I'm excited but also a little bit nervous...so pray for me that God gives me guidance and calls me to the right church. Tomorrow is Valentine's Day and I don't get to spend time with my honey. But, I do love her very much and I can't wait to see her soon. She's a great gift to me and to this world. What a faithful woman of God! I just gotta say she's amazing - all that she is and all that she does. | | |

| BACK IN HOT-LANTA so I'm back in Atlanta finishing my last year at CTS (Columbia Theological Seminary). So many new faces, new changes, etc. It's very sad that most of my classmates have graduated. But, the good news is that there are some stragglers like me who did a year-long internship or strecthed out their years by taking less classes, and some that just want to stay in school because they like it. I also just began a College Ministry Internship at North Avenue Presbyterian Church right in downtown Atlanta. Wonderful church with vibrant ministries...there are four services on Sundays: one traditional, one quasi-contemporary, one for homeless people, and one very contemporary worship for college and young adults. I'll probably help out with all four but my main focus is the college ministry. Man, I'm having a great time already - the staff is so pumped up and passionate about what they do...I'm loving ministry right now. I know it's not easy, but I find so much joy and energy in doing ministry. In terms of culture and ethnicity, NAPC is somewhat diverse. Besides the majority caucasians, I met many people from Zimbabwe and other African nations, I've seen many Chinese international students, and some Korean families as well. Overall, the church is not as diverse or intentional about multicultralism like CAN - which by the way is still my FAVORITE church! -but I can see that God is doing something great here and there is alot of potential for growth in the area of racial-reconciliation, diversity, multicultralism, etc. School studies is exciting and more afresh for me since I've done a year of ministry at CAN. I can relate more to theological understandings and views to my experiences of ministry. The studies have become more ALIVE, and since I've dealt with alot of my baggage by giving my testimony, I'm alot more mentally and emotionally healthier to focus on my studies and ministry of what God has for me here. Before, I was so caught up in my past, shame, and guilt that I had a difficult time studying at times. And I'm finally finding my voice and identity that God has given me. Hallelujah! Well, that's kinda of in a nutshell of what God has been doing in my life since I've been back in Atlanta... | | |
| It's been really fun and exciting in my time at Minneapolis. I love CAN and it is as if I never left home - my family of faith. This past Sunday we had a picnic after worship right down the hill from the church - beach park. We ate some good grub and played soccer and volleyball! Loved it. Nice breeze, cool, but warm day and loved re-connecting with family and friends at CAN.
It's also been a blessing to see Thao and spend time with her. We ate at Old Spaghetti Factory yesterday and went to the new Guthrie Theatre (which by the way is very postmodern, trendy, and awesome) and saw "The Great Gatsby" - great play!
I just want to say that God is awesome and so great, beyond all our expectations, thoughts, dreams, and everything. He has been so good to me and I don't deserve anything - my family, friends, church family, life, breath, etc. But it truly is a blessing even when times are hard to be able to love and to be loved as we continue to love our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. Amen! I hope y'all have a blessed day! | | |
